The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) has issued notices to three authorities, including the Department of Drinking Water, Goa State Pollution Control Board and Club Mahindra Resort, following a complaint filed by residents of Assnora in Bardez.
The complaint, dated August 1, 2026, was placed before the Commission, which has directed the respondents to submit their replies to the allegations raised by the residents.
The notices have been issued to the Chief Executive Engineer of the Department of Drinking Water, the Member Secretary of the Goa State Pollution Control Board and the Manager of Club Mahindra Resort, located near the water treatment plant at Assnora.
The Commission has directed the respondents to appear before it personally or through duly authorised representatives and file their replies by August 26, 2026, at 10.30 a.m. A copy of the residents’ complaint has also been enclosed with the notice.
The proceedings were initiated under Proceeding No. 121/2026/92. The order was signed by GHRC Chairperson Justice Bharat P. Deshpande, along with Member-I Desmond D’Costa and Member-II Pramod V. Kamat.
The notice was issued on August 11, 2026, and requires the concerned authorities to furnish their reports in accordance with the Commission’s directions.
