MPT Pensioners’ Association Meets Sarbananda Sonowal Over Long-Pending Grievances

Representatives of the Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) Pensioners’ Association met Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal on August 6 to raise a number of long-pending grievances concerning the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA).

The delegation included association president Santosh Fadte and general secretary Digambar Tendulkar. They were accompanied by Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shripad Naik during the meeting.

During the interaction, the pensioners’ representatives apprised Sonowal of their longstanding concerns and sought early intervention for their resolution.

Taking note of the issues raised, Sonowal contacted the MPA Chairperson over the telephone and urged the authority to take prompt action on the grievances brought before him.

The Union Minister also assured the association representatives that their concerns would be addressed at the earliest.

The meeting comes as MPT pensioners continue to pursue the resolution of issues pending before the Mormugao Port Authority.
