Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant handed over 97 new two-wheelers to the Goa Police as part of the state’s ongoing police modernisation programme. The move is aimed at improving mobility, strengthening patrolling and ensuring quicker response to emergencies across Goa.
The newly inducted fleet consists of 32 Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles, 20 Hero Splendor motorcycles and 45 scooters. These vehicles will be distributed among police stations and units across the state to enhance operational efficiency.

According to officials, the Royal Enfield motorcycles will primarily be deployed for highway patrolling and high-visibility policing duties. The Hero Splendor motorcycles will support routine policing activities, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where officers require reliable mobility.
The scooters will be used in congested urban locations, market areas and tourist hubs, allowing personnel to navigate traffic more effectively and respond quickly to incidents.
Officials said the addition of the new vehicles will improve police presence on roads and help strengthen public safety measures. The initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to modernise law enforcement infrastructure and equip police personnel with better resources.
