This disturbance is causing divergence in the forward sector over Northwest India. Consequently, light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, are anticipated across the Western Himalayan region on February 27 and 28, with a decrease in intensity afterward. Heavy rainfall and snowfall may occur in isolated areas of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on those same dates, with some places in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad experiencing very heavy precipitation on February 27, and Himachal Pradesh on both the 27 and 28. Additionally, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi from February 27 to March 1.
Isolated light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms may also occur in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during this period, with gusty winds (30-40 km/h) expected in Punjab and Haryana on February 27 and 28.
