PANJIM: A group of seven activists from the State will stage a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Sunday, March 19, where they will be pressing the Central government for demolishing the alleged illegal bungalow built in the heritage precincts at Old Goa.
Addressing media persons at Azad Maidan, Panjim on Friday, activists Glen Cabral, Xencor Polgi, Sayed Iftiaz and Anthony D’Silva appealed to Goans to travel to Delhi and also to those Goans presently residing in the national capital, to turn up in large numbers on Sunday to participate in the protest.

“As Goa government has failed to hear our plea we have now decided to raise our voice in the national capital,” Anthony D’Silva said.
Xencor Polgi informed that they will try to meet the officials of the Union Ministry of Culture, which is the parent body of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
“We will also try to meet some of the Union Ministers and present our views and convey the sentiments of people of Goa. We will go to any extent to protect our heritage site at Old Goa,” said Polgi.
