Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said Goa’s “workation” model is drawing professionals, entrepreneurs and innovators from across India, helping the state evolve beyond its identity as a tourism destination. Speaking at the grand finale of Ideabaaz Startup Goa Day 2026, he said Goa is steadily emerging as a centre for technology, tourism, hospitality, agriculture, wellness, manufacturing, creative industries and sustainable enterprises. Sawant said the event provided a platform for local innovators to connect with investors and mentors. He also announced that the top five finalists will represent Goa at the Ideabaaz Startup Fest 2026 in New Delhi. Highlighting the government’s commitment to entrepreneurship, the Chief Minister said more than 800 startups have received support under the Startup Goa Initiative, while over 15 startups working in sectors such as artificial intelligence, health-tech and media technology have recently been sanctioned seed grants of Rs 10 lakh each.
