The Governor who began her speech at 11.30 am, suddenly fell ill at around12.15, when she was in the midst of her speech.
After sipping some water, she could not continue reading the speech, and sat on the chair next to the Speaker.
She was escorted out of the House by Speaker Rajendra Arlekar and Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar along with other members, including Leader of Opposition Pratapsingh Rane.
Sinha, who was delivering her first address to the House after taking over as Goa Governor, last year, was accompanied by her husband Dr Ram Kripal Sinha, who was listening to her from the visitors’ gallery.
“It should be considered that entire speech of the Governor has been read,” Speaker Arlekar said, before tabling the copy in the House.
The House was later adjourned for lunch.
Speaking to media in his chamber during the lunch break, the Speaker said “I think she could not continue because of her health.
There were only two pages remaining when she felt uneasy.”
Sources close to the Governor confirmed that she has been feeling unwell for last couple of days and had cancelled her appointments on Sunday.
“The Governor was ill for the last two days, due to which she did not even attend the function, where she was the chief guest,” sources said.
