PANJIM: The Goa Government Employees’ Association (GGEA) on Tuesday served a 21-day strike notice to the government over its failure to clear its stand on the implementation of the VIIth Pay Commission recommendation to its employees.
Addressing media persons, Goa Government Employees’ Association president John Nazareth said the notice will come into force from November 28 if the Chief Minister fails to assure on implementing the pay scale.
The Central Working Committee of GGEA last week discussed the VIIth Pay Commission and the State government’s delay in implementing it. “The Central Working Committee has resolved to serve 21-day strike notice to the government on November 7 and strike work from November 28 against government failure to hike the pay scale,” Nazareth said.
He said that from November 8 to 28, GGEA will conduct taluka level protests over the government’s failure.
