PANJIM: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has charged the government of marketing itself through a public relations agency despite the State reeling under various controversial issues.
The party also slammed the government for suspending the House Building Advance (HBA) scheme for the government employees, issue which has been ignored even by the Opposition.

“We have around 55,000 government employees. No political party has taken up the HBA issue seriously. HBA’s removal is a breach of trust and faith. The government has backstabbed. The Chief Minister should look at other States where stimulus package is offered to the government employees. It is a package of concession but in Goa, it is vice-versa,” GFP President Vijai Sardesai said, on Saturday.
His reaction to the much-debated issue came during the induction of former Goa Government Employees Association President John Nazareth into the party.
Nazareth will head the newly formulated Employees Forward Cell and take up issues of government servants and private-sector employees.
The GFP has been demanding rolling back the decision of the government ever since the government announced closure of the scheme around two months ago.
Sardesai further took a dig at the Chief Minister’s announcement of providing 10,000 jobs calling it an election gimmick.
“The government has failed on the employment front and our Goan youth are leaving the country in search of jobs,” he added.
He also took the opportunity to charge the government of purchasing the award, recently announced at a conclave by India Today.
“I am also a Goemkar and I am proud that Goa has received the award but not the way it is administered. I am sure the award has been bought. This is my charge. These days, the PRO agency is going about,” the former deputy Chief Minister said
Sardesai also alleged the Chief Minister has cheated and sold Mhadei River to Karnataka for personal again.
