Govt to set up centre to promote organic farming

PANJIM: Goa will work to set up a Centre of Excellence in association with the Israel for promoting organic farming, Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai said.
Sardesai spoke to Herald after a meeting with Nimod Kalmar, deputy chief of Israel Embassy in Mumbai. 
Kalmar soon tweeted, “Had an interesting chat w/ #Goa Hon. Dy. CM @VijaiSardesai on Goa’s rich past, impressive present, and ambitious future. Mr. Sardesai shared that Goans have all been proud of their multicultural, dynamic and creative spirit. Goa’s growing progress should bring even more pride!”
Sardesai said that the focus of the meeting was on agriculture and protecting identiry of Goa.
“As Modi government is promoting agriculture, we too want to promote agriculture in a big way,” he said.
He also said that they discussed on setting up of centre of excellence in Ageiculture sector which will give it a major boost.
Sardesai also said they discussed about regionalism and protecting Goa’s identity in particular.
