CANACONA: With rains pounding Canacona for more than two hours in the morning, water entered in at least six houses at Dhavalkazan in Agonda on Thursday.
Fire and emergency services crew responded to a distress call from the residents whose houses got water logged as the adjacent neighbour had allegedly blocked the drain pipe which is passing through their property.
As the land lord and his other family members didn’t allow the fire and emergency crew to open up the blocked pipe police were called.
Sources said that the fire crew removed the block in the presence of police officials who later instructed the neighbour to not to block the drain pipe and if they have any grievance they should get it redressed by approaching proper authorities.
Later, the victims of water logging approached Canacona police with accusations that the land lady has put boulders and blocked the drainage pipe again.
Sources said that on the basis of the complain the landlady was brought to the police station and kept there till evening to prevent any law and order problem and was sent back after taking an undertaking that she would not block the drain.
Sujetha Pagi, who lost her husband last year in a road accident and one of the affected persons, said that water entered in her mud house and if it happens again it would collapse and would be fatal to her and her 8-year-old daughter.
