GSHCL shares rates given to Goan farmers on vegetables per kg

PANJIM: The Goa State Horticultural Corporation (GSHCL) have shared that the rates given to farmers in the State are mostly higher as compared to prevailing market yard rates given to farmers in other States such as Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Through these figures, they pointed out that the support they provide Goan farmers in terms of rates is better barring a few exceptions here and there.  

In this regard, The GHSCL shared the rates given to Goan farmers on various vegetables per kg and compared the rates being given to farmers in Belgaum, Kohlapur and Pune. For ‘Bhendi’, the GHSCL said farmers in Goa are given Rs 36 per kg, while they say farmers in Belgaum are given Rs 30, in Kolhapur Rs 22.5 and in Pune Rs 30. For ‘Bitter Gourd’, the rates for farmers in Goa are Rs 54 per kg, while the same in Belgaum is Rs 44, in Kolhapur Rs 35 and in Pune Rs 14. 

For ‘Bottle Gourd’, it’s Rs 19 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 18, in Kolhapur Rs 17.5 and in Pune Rs 20. For ‘Brinjal’, it’s Rs 32 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 32, in Kolhapur Rs 35 and in Pune Rs 35.

For ‘Cluster Beans’, it’s Rs 50 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 50, in Kolhapur Rs 45 and in Pune Rs 40. For ‘Cucumber’, it’s Rs 26 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 23, in Kolhapur Rs 15 and in Pune Rs 14. For ‘Ginger’, it’s Rs 94 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 50, in Kolhapur Rs 18.5 and in Pune Rs 12.

For ‘Green Chilllies’, it’s Rs 35 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 23, in Kohlapur Rs 17.5 and in Pune Rs 25. For ‘Onion’, it’s Rs 33 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 33, in Kolhapur Rs 14 and in Pune Rs 14.

For ‘Ridge Gourd’, it’s Rs 48 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 48, in Kolhapur Rs 25 and in Pune Rs 37.5. For ‘Suran’, it’s Rs 54 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 40 and in Pune Rs 25. No rates were shared for farmers in Kolhapur in this case.

Then for ‘Tendle’ (Little Gourd), the rates for farmers in Goa is Rs 35, while in Belgaum Rs 35, in Kolhapur Rs 20 and in Pune Rs 22.5

Finally, for ‘Tomato’, it’s Rs 32 for farmers in Goa, while in Belgaum Rs 20, in Kolhapur Rs 7.5 and in Pune Rs 7.
