MAPUSA: Guirim Sarpanch Sunny Nanodkar, who has been booked for allegedly raping a 21-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her, has moved an anticipatory bail application before the District and Sessions Court. The matter is likely to be heard on June 5.
It may be recalled that on May 30, the Mapusa police had booked Nanodkar for allegedly raping the girl on pretext of marrying her. The victim then lodged a complaint stating that she had been sexually assaulted for almost a year from May 2022 till May 2023 on the pretext of marriage.

Mapusa police registered and offence under Sections 376, 506 (2), 420 of the Indian Penal Code. The accused person is absconding. Mapusa police is further investigating the case.
