VASCO: Tension gripped Sancoale after a religious structure located in comunidade property was found demolished, following which locals launched an agitation demanding action against the culprit.
According to reports reaching here, a gumti under a banyan tree in a comunidade property in Upasnagar was found demolished on Friday. As news of demolition spread like wildfire, a group of locals gathered at the site demanding the police take strict action against the culprit. 
As soon more and more people joined the protesters, a strong pose of police rushed to the site to control law and order situation.
Locals alleged that a local (name withheld) illegally demolished the religious structure using JCB on Friday evening. They said that since the structure is located in comunidade property, the culprit had no right to take such step. 
Senior police officials rushed to the site and attempted to persuade the agitators to maintain calm. “The situation is tense but under control,” a police officer informed Herald.
