VASCO: Cortalim Zilla Panchayat member Anton Vas provided crop yield harvesting machine free of cost to Velsao farmers to harvest the fields from Velsao area.
The Cortalim ZP member expressed joy that the underutilised fields are being cultivated by the farmers.

Vas said that he is anytime willing to extend his help to the local farmers and providing harvesting machine free of cost is one such gesture.
He further said that Cortalim Farmers Club is the first in State to have a trolley to carry the harvester machine to each village to support the farmers in farming.
Meanwhile, Roquezinho D’Souza, head of Velsao Pale Xetkar Association (VPXA) said that since the joint meeting by Zonal Agricultural Officer was held few weeks ago, the local farmers have generated interest in farming activities.
D’Souza also added that Vas has been instrumental in providing farming machinery to the farmers from Cortalim Constituency.
“When the time of yield harvesting reaches, we call Vas and request him to provide with the machinery and operator which he arranges from outside the State,” D’Souza added.
