The Goa government told the Court that from now on, the amount of waste taken from the Sonsoddo dumping site to the Saligao waste treatment plant will be increased to from 20 metric tonne to 30 metric tonne in order to reduce the accumulation of waste at Sonsoddo.

On Tuesday, the South Goa Collector had submitted a report to the Court stating that measures had been taken to resolve the Sonsoddo garbage issue and that the accumulated waste would be transported to the Saligao garbage treatment plant.

In the meantime, the High Court asked the Margao Municipal Council not to issue any fresh construction licence till the date of next hearing on July 19.
