PANJIM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday forecast heavy rainfall across Goa up to Sunday. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to venture into Maharashtra-Goa coast for the next few days.
“Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph) are likely to prevail over West Central Arabian Sea during the next three days from August 16 to 18,” the IMD stated in its weather warning bulletin.
The State has so far seen a rainfall of 3001.9 mm (118.6 inches), which is 23 per cent more than normal rainfall at this time of 2434.2 mm.
