MAPUSA: The flying squad stopped an alleged hill cutting which was going on at Moira and asked the Town and Country Planning Department to initiate action against the wrongdoers.
Former sarpanch Oswald Cordeiro complained to the North Goa flying squad about the alleged hill-cutting activity which was going on at Moira.
Acting on the complaint, a flying squad rushed to the spot and found that the hill cutting was being carried out using a JCB machine.
When officers asked the owner to produce valid documents, and when they failed to do so, the owner was asked to stop work.
A report was later submitted to Deputy Collector North Mandar Naik, who will be asking the TCP Department to initiate action against the illegalities.
