Hotel Owned by MLA Michael Lobo Burgled in Anjuna; Cash Stolen from Reception

A hotel owned by MLA Michael Lobo was burgled late at night, with cash reportedly stolen from the reception counter. The incident took place while the security guard was away from his post, allowing the unidentified culprit to enter the premises unnoticed.

Following the theft, Lobo lodged a formal complaint with the Anjuna Police, who have begun reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel and nearby areas to identify the suspect.

Condemning the incident, Lobo urged authorities to intensify checks on unidentified individuals residing in coastal belts and to strengthen night patrols to prevent such crimes. He expressed concern over the recent spate of burglaries and thefts in coastal Goa, stressing the need for heightened police vigilance and community cooperation to ensure safety and security in tourist areas.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
