BICHOLIM: A fire partially gutted a house in Deulwada Shirgao Bicholim. Anant Chari, the owner, suffered a loss of Rs 3 lakh.
According to fire brigade sources, the incident occurred at around 5.15 am on Friday and a short circuit is believed to be the reason behind the fire even though exact cause is yet to be ascertained.
Fire engulfed the main hall and bedroom destroying electrical equipments like washing machine, refrigerator, fan, TV set.
The gold ornaments locked in the cupboard melted and some important documents were burnt.
On getting the information, fire personnel led by Rohidas Parab under the guidance of SFO Laxman Majik brought the fire under control thus avoiding further loss.
