Houses escape fire scare in Carambolim

Residents from over 10 houses in and around Kalpora-Carambolim had anxious moments after fire lit in the nearby fields threatened to spread in the area on Saturday afternoon.
According to Old Goa Fire Station Officer Michael Braganza, after they received a call from one Sadanand Kuttikar at about 2 pm that some people lit fire in the fields at Carambolim, Braganza along with 12 fire station officers rushed to the site and tried to put off the fire. Braganza further informed that no one was injured in the incident.
“About two water tankers were pressed into service to put off the fire. We managed to put off the fire, which could have spread further in Kalpora-Carambolim area,” added Braganza.
