PANJIM: Goa may be in for trouble with the Human Resource Development Ministry for furnishing incorrect and, in some cases, duplicated data and has been warned that discrepancies should be rectified, failing which it would have to refund amounts sanctioned for various education related schemes.
The HRD ministry has noted duplication in the number of schools, headmasters and so on and has asked the state to make all the necessary rectifications and get back to it with accurate information.
This is not the first time that Goa is getting a whip from the Centre though. In the past too, several such strictures had been passed on implementation of other schemes both relating to education and non academic matters.
Likewise discrepancies have also been noted in the records of Central government funds allocated to the State under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) with accounting errors, and major flaws in the balance sheets.
Here again the State has been asked to correct all such data and submit the same at the earliest.
