PANJIM: The BJP’s St Andre MLA, Vishnu Wagh told media that he was “sad” that he had been given step motherly treatment to him and his constituency.
Citing instances where he was not invited for functions at the Goa Medical College and Hospital even though he was the local MLA, Wagh also complained that many departments were not doing work related to his constituency.
Wagh has been in the news for his alleged aspirations to stand on a NCP ticket for the North Goa constituency and has reportedly met NCP Supremo and Union Minister Sharad Pawar during one of his visits to the state.
Wagh expressed his reservations about the governments stand on casinos and the Medium of instruction issue and argued that he has been taking up peoples issues and these are not for his personal benefit.
Without denying that he had been approached by political parties, Wagh known for his firebrand rhetoric and his love for the arts had left the Congress just before the assembly elections on the issue of the medium of instruction and contested and won on the BJP ticket from St Andre.
Sources also say that Wagh an accomplished writer has expressed his disquiet over promises made to him and not honoured, in private.
