“As an MLA, I am totally against the illegal dance bars and dubious massage parlours,” said Lobo.

Recalling Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s statement in which he stated that in-charges of the respective police stations will be held responsible and face action, Lobo said he will write to Sawant if action is not taken against illegal activities that take place in Calangute.

Lobo has informed that inquiry into illegal massage parlours by the panchayat is often cited as harassment by owners. “When the panchayat questions these places about the activities taking place, these places in turn file a harassment case against the panchayat,” informed Lobo. Adding that although the Health Department has given a NOC, what goes on inside these establishments remains a mystery.
