Rajasthan Royals finished the league stage with 16 points, moving ahead of Punjab Kings, who ended their campaign with 15 points. The result also eliminated Kolkata Knight Riders from playoff contention, as their maximum possible tally remains 15 points even if they win their final league match against Delhi Capitals.

The IPL 2026 playoffs will begin with Qualifier 1 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans, who finished first and second respectively in the points table. The match is scheduled to be played in Dharamsala on May 26, with the winner advancing directly to the final in Ahmedabad on May 31.
The losing side from Qualifier 1 will travel to New Chandigarh to compete in Qualifier 2 against the winner of the Eliminator.
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals, who ended the league stage in third and fourth place, will face off in the Eliminator on May 27 in New Chandigarh. The losing team will be knocked out of the tournament, while the winner will move on to Qualifier 2 on May 29 against the loser of Qualifier 1.
With only a one-day break before the final, the winner of Qualifier 2 will head to Ahmedabad on May 30 for the title clash scheduled on May 31.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians remained ninth in the standings, finishing ahead of Lucknow Super Giants, who ended at the bottom of the table. Both teams managed just four wins from their 14 matches in the IPL 2026 season.
