PANJIM: The Goa Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the government and the Department of Women and Child Development in connection with the transfer of a differently-abled anganwadi worker from Sattari to Quepem.

The notices issued to Chief Secretary Parimal Rai and WCD Director Deepali Naik seek reply by July 31.
The issue pertains to the transfer of the differently-abled anganwadi worker, which created ire among the locals and NGO Goencho Avaaz terming the move as “disgusting and inhuman”.
Incidentally, the woman’s husband was a part of the recent protest against the proposed IIT project in Guleli Village Panchayat.
The NGO had also issued a press statement demanding that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant should not be a mute spectator on the issue and instead sack the local MLA for intervening into the matter.
