PONDA: ITI Ponda has commenced short term duration courses for secondary school dropout students free of cost under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme on Monday.
Chief guest Sandeep Nigalye inaugurated first batch of the courses of 30 students in the presence of ITI Director Deepak Desai, Principal of Farmagudi ITI Vinayak Kambli and Sandeep Naik.
All the 10 ITIs in the State with practical training will help them secure self employment opportunities in the field of plumbing, Welding, Field Technician Air Conditioner etc.
Deepak Desai while introducing the courses said PMKVY is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The objective of this skill certification is to enable a large number of youth to take up industry relevant practical skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.
