VASCO: A heated argument took a violent turn when an inmate at Sada Sub Jail was injured after he was assaulted by three under trials.

According to Mormugao Police, the Sada Sub Jail Assistant Superintendent Banudas Pednekar complained that the under trials, Deepak Kerkar, Velly D’Costa and Dikki Singh entered into an argument with Pritesh Prasad during recreation time.
In the ensuing argument, Kerkar, D’Costa and Singh reportedly assaulted Prasad with fist blows.
jail guards intervened shifted Parasd to the Chicalim Cottage Hospital for medical treatment, from where he was referred to GMC Hospital. Prasad was later discharged after receiving treatment.
Mormugao Police informed that Kerkar and Singh are lodged in the Sada sub jail in connection with a dacoity, while D’Costa faces charges of dacoity and under the Arms Act. Parasd is being held on murder charges.
Mormugao Police on Monday evening filed a non-cognizable offence against the three under trials and is investigating the case.
