The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court in Margao on Monday granted bail to Walter Fernandes and three others, who were arrested for allegedly attempting to extort money from a real estate businessman.
Each of the four accused was required to furnish a surety of Rs 25,000 as a condition for their release. The arrests followed complaints by the businessman, alleging that the group had tried to coerce him for a sum of money.

Police continue to investigate the case to determine the full extent of the alleged extortion and the involvement of the accused.
