PANJIM: Investors, allegedly cheated by Kamakshi Forex Private Limited, have accused Goa Police of not carrying out investigations in the case in a proper manner.
The High Court of Bombay at Goa adjourned the petition by one week for further arguments.
When the matter came up for hearing in the high court, the petitioners and intervention petitioner lawyer-activist Aires Rodrigues alleged that the investigation is not on the right track and the police should challenge the conditional bail granted to main accused Nilesh Raikar. They have demanded that the case be handed over to CBI for a fair and unbiased probe.
“Investigation is deliberately derailed and has not proceeded on the proper track. The State has not initiated any steps to move for cancellation of bail granted to the accused looking at the gravity,” Advocate Arun Bras De Sa argued.
Rodrigues, representing another victim – Varca seaman Selvino Gonsalves – has sought proper investigation.
, pointing out that the latter and his wife were cheated and duped to the tune of over Rs 12 lakh.
