Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Announces Resignation, D.K. Shivakumar Likely to Take Charge

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced his decision to step down from the post, stating that he was honouring his commitment to the Congress high command under the previously agreed term-sharing arrangement.

The announcement was reportedly made during a breakfast meeting held at his official residence “Kaveri” in Bengaluru. Several senior Congress leaders and ministers attended the meeting, including Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, M.B. Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, and Dr G. Parameshwar.

According to sources, Siddaramaiah informed party leaders that he would make way for Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar after completing his agreed tenure as Chief Minister.
