MAYEM: Barely a day after Congress made its intention clear to contest both the Lok Sabha seats in the State, senior Congress leader Adv Ramakant Khalap on Monday started visiting constituencies in North Goa in the wake of the forthcoming Parliamentary polls.
Adv Khalap visited Mayem and convened a meeting of the Congress party activists at Mayem lake area.
During the last Lok Sabha election, NCP contested the North Goa seat on behalf of the Congress party; however, NCP had lost the seat to North Goa Member of Parliament Shripad Naik.
It is learnt that Adv Khalap has started discussions with other Congress leaders like Pratapsing Rane, Vishwajit Rane, GPCC President Subhash Shirodkar and others to strengthen activities of the Congress party in the wake of forthcoming assembly polls.
