PANJIM: The Pernem Police have booked unidentified persons for committing theft of gold ornaments worth around Rs eight lakh from a house at Korgao.

According to police, one Chaitali Govekar from Badem, Korgao, Pernem, lodged a complaint stating that during 8 pm and 11 pm on December 22, 2024, unidentified persons broke the glass panes of the window near the rear door of the house, removed the latch, entered through the rear door of the house and committed theft of gold ornaments.
The ornaments which have been stolen included one gold Mangalsutra, five gold bangles, one gold finger ring, four pairs of gold ear-rings, one gold nose ring, one gold chain and one bracelet, among others, all worth around Rs eight lakh.
An FIR has been registered and the case is being investigated by PSI Sahil S Naik of Pernem Police Station, police said.
