A special bus service of the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) was launched on Friday to benefit students studying at S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics. The service was flagged off by Transport Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho from Vasco.
The newly introduced bus will depart from Vasco at 7:15 am and reach the Cujira–Bambolim Complex, while the return service will leave Cujira–Bambolim at 1:00 pm. The service is expected to provide significant relief to students who had been facing difficulties in commuting to the college.
Speaking on the occasion, Godinho said the bus service was introduced following a long-pending demand raised by parents from Assoi and Dongrim, who had highlighted the challenges their children faced while travelling for their studies.
The minister expressed satisfaction that the issue could be addressed promptly and thanked Andrew and the entire KTC team for their quick efforts in making the service operational within a short period.
Meanwhile, parents and students from Matve in Dabolim have also requested a similar bus service. Godinho assured that steps will be taken to introduce the service at the earliest to further support students in the constituency.
