MARGAO: In a surprising move, Costa and Company Pvt. Ltd sent a final notice letter, on Saturday, to terminate the agreement between Costa and Shrison Realtors who were the developers of the Aquem ground property. The power of attorney issued to in favour of Manjunath Pai Dukle who is the proprietor of Shrison Realtors by Francisco Xavier Ivo Da Costa Azaredo has also been withdrawn on Saturday opening up a whole new chapter of what happens to the ground now.
The legal heir and owner of the Aquem ground Indra Costa speaking to Herald over the roll back said, “It’s been long overdue that the builder hasn’t been able to come to a conclusive start for the development of the land, hence I had to take matters in my own hand and resolve them, All I want to do is develop the land in such a manner where everybody is satisfied. I wish to make my forefathers property into a cultural commercial hub for Aquem residents”.
The Aquem Ground Bachao Association also has appreciated the move of Costa and Company for understanding the sentiments of Aquemkars. The Aquemkars have specially thanked former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for his support and Advocate Rajeev Gomes and others for their support.
Herald spoke to Aquem Ground Bachao Association general secretary Andrew Sequeira. “We have already submitted to the legal owner of the land Indra Costa a plan for how we want the ground to be developed. We have asked and allowed him to develop the land and make shops and commercial complex by the road side and make a playground inside” said Andrew. Advocate Rajeev Gomes and the Aquem Ground Bachao Association have taken initiative to chalk out a plan and have already had a meeting with the owner to discuss the same. They will be meeting the owner in the month of June again to further discuss the matter at length.
