PONDA: The post-mortem report of the leopard which was found dead at Tishem-Borim Saturday last has revealed that the animal had died due to injuries sustained from gun shots.
Referring to the post-mortem report, Range Forest Officer Laurenco Dias informed that poachers had used a country-made handgun for hunting and they are investigating the case thoroughly.
Forest officials informed that it was not yet clear when and where the animal was shot, however they believe that the incident could have occurred somewhere away from the place where the animal was found dead.
Officials also suspect that the animal after being injured could have run from the spot. They have registered the offence against unidentified person for killing leopard. The leopard was cremated after all the formalities were completed.
