PANJIM: Making his appearance in Goa, for the first time to campaign for the Congress Candidate Reginaldo Lourenco, Luizinho Faleiro addressed a public meeting in Rumdamoll along with ex-chief minister Digambar Kamat, ex-minister Babu Azgaonkar, AICC All India Minorities Chairman Khurshid Ahmed Sayed,  Independent MLA Vijai Sardesai, GPCC General Secretary Akbhar Mulla, Minorities Chief Saifulla Khan, GPCC Vice President Moti Desai among others.
Speaking at the gathering Luizinho was presented with a skull cap which he wore without any hesitation and reminded the people, how Narendra Modi had refused to wear the skull cap at a meeting in the past. He reminded the people that if a man has no respect for the religion, has presided over the genocide in Gujarat as CM, and questioned how a person like that can be a prime ministerial candidate over false propaganda of development which is a lie by the Gujarat govt. He told the people an incident which had occurred in Arunachal Pradesh, where the Gujarat Chief Minister has threatened the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for not supporting the BJP, and telling the Arunachal CM that he would soon be the Prime Minister and would teach him a lesson for not pledging his support.
Faleiro asked the people that if a CM can issue threats like these to a Chief Minister of another state without elections having been started, one know what we can expect if we allow a man like this to become the Prime Minister of the country. Luizinho spoke about the various schemes the UPA govt has given to the people. He said that the party believed in Right based schemes and told the people that the UPA had given the country schemes like Right to Information, Right to Education, Right to Food etc. He also said that in the party’s manifesto they have declared that a lot more schemes like Right to pension, Right to Health care and many more will be given to the people that will empower the citizens of the country all the more. He said that the Congress party is the only party that cares for the people of India across all lines and makes no distinction while granting schemes unlike the BJP. He urged the people to stay united and vote against the communal forces so that their agenda of hate is not allowed to be professed. Luizinho congratulated the party for nominating a young and worth candidate and said that Reginaldo is a young face that was much needed in the state.
Babu Azgaonkar reminded the people that all the development that happened in the area was done entirely during the Congress tenure. He said that it has been two years since the BJP has come to power in Goa but has done nothing for the people living in the area. He said that even the school from where they are addressing this meeting is built only because the then Minister Luizinho Faleiro had made provisions to help the Muslim community.
Saifulla Khan urged all the Muslims to stay united and not to split their precious vote. He said that this election is a very important election for the country because the democratic essence of the nation can be destroyed if the BJP comes to power.
Digambar Kamat also addressed the meeting and said he was thankful to the people for their massive turn out. He too echoed the tunes of unity in these difficult times and said he is sure that the people will not vote for a party that has always discriminated the minorities and will vote for a truly secular candidate.
