PANJIM: As the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) will hold its first state executive meeting under the Luizinho Faleiro on Friday, his predecessor John Fernandes has accused the new president of a “deafening silence” with regard to raising his voice against the BJP-led government in the last two weeks after taking over charge.
“I was confident that my successor will carry forward my fight against the government, but unfortunately there is a deafening silence,” Fernandes, the former GPCC president told media on Thursday.
Fernandes, who was replaced by Luizinho as GPCC president earlier this month, said “the GPCC executive is still reeling under the hangover of grand celebration party held to welcome their new president…they are yet to come out of it”.
He has also demanded that the Modi-led government should come out with stringent laws so that those with black money are arrested.
