PONDA: The farmers have reposed their faith in Madhav Sahakari’s panel by electing 11 of the latter’s members to the 12-member Goa Dairy Board of Directors (BOD) on Monday.
At the counting process, the Goa Dairy Bachao Panel’s lone member was elected to BoD. However, only four votes were declared invalid and Returning Officer Satish Sawanth declared the result at around 1.15 pm.
The 11 Madhav Sahakari’s panel members who were elected to the BoD include Madhav Sahkari, Danajay Nanba Desai, Ajay Desai,Vithoba Datta Desai, Baburao Fatto Desai, Babu Komarpanth, Naresh Malik, Gurudas Parab, Vijaykumar Patil, Rajesh Faldesai and Rajendra Sawal.
It could have been a clean sweep for the panel but its candidate Ulhas Sinari lost to Aselmo Futardo of Goa Dairy Bachao Panel by 82-84 votes.
