Man Arrested for Depositing Fake ₹500 Notes in Porvorim Bank, Sent to Police Custody

A 46-year-old man from Karnataka has been arrested for allegedly depositing counterfeit currency at a bank in Porvorim.

The accused, identified as Maibuba D. Yalagi, reportedly deposited fake ₹500 notes amounting to ₹3,500 in a cash deposit machine on March 5.

Police said the accused was later traced and brought to Goa, where he was taken into custody. He has been remanded to four days of police custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities are continuing their probe to determine the source of the counterfeit notes and whether others are involved in the case.
