MARGAO: General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Margao Mandal Navin Pai Raikar, on Friday, alleged that most of the MMC councillors from Margao MLA Digambar Kamat’s panel ‘are corrupt and involved in illegal activities.’
Raikar further alleged that one of the family members of Margao Municipality’s deputy chief is also allegedly involved in illegal activities.

Speaking to media, Raikar said, “Not a single councillor from the Digambar’s panel deserves to be respected. Most of those councillors are involved in illegal activities. Such type of councillors cannot run the Margao municipality.”
Navin said that the MMC is “already garbage of corruption and that the MLA and his supporters have tried to disturb the Tika Utsav is known to everybody.”
“One of the well-wishers of BJP was seen helping the citizens at the Daivandya Bhavan vaccination centre. But he was accused of no fault of his by the MMC vice-chairperson,” he said.
He also said that he will file a complaint with the relevant authorities against those involved in the illegal activities.
