During the last Assembly session, the government had introduced the scheme to provide temporary recognition to daily wage workers. However, concerns have arisen over the municipality reportedly collecting documents and signatures from workers on blank forms, which critics label as “totally illegal.”

Former Margao chairperson Savio Coutinho expressed apprehensions about the lack of transparency in the process, suggesting there could be hidden motives behind it.
