MARGAO: The Margao Front felicitated several personalities for their contribution to society in their respective fields with the Uthkrust Nagrik Puraskar 2013 on the occasion of Dindi Festival.
The personalities who have received the award include Dr Somnath Komarpant, Dr Gopal Vaidya, Prof Shaik Asaf Ali, Tulsidas Malkarnekar, Ramarao Nayak, Shahu Maharaj Shinde, Prof Edwin Fernandes, Josephat Gonsalves, Vinod Halgekar and Shaikh Ayub Muzawar. AICC secretary Girish Chodankar was the chief guest, while social worker and industrialist Ibrahim Shaikh Maulana was the guest of honour. Renowned writer and educationist Biku Pai Angle was the special invitee. Margao Front President Viraj V Wadekar, Mangesh Naik were among those present.
