MARGAO: Facing much flak over anti-social activities close to migrant-inhabited areas, the Margao police have formed two teams to take routine rounds of the troubled spots in the city.
Each of the two teams will be headed by a police sub-inspector, who will closely monitor the activities of anti-social elements, informed DySP Mohan Naik.
Replying to a question over complaints on the presence of migrants late night at many a road junction, DySP Mohan Naik said that migrants are found assembling at many a road junction late in the evenings or on holidays. “Some even follow the practice of taking a stroll after dinner. We are keeping a track of their movements,” he said.
Asked to throw light on the murderous assault on a person at Pajifond on Saturday, DySP Naik said that the police have identified the assailants, but hastened to add there was no complaint lodged against the accused by the victim.
Residents maintained police presence at night will instill a sense of confidence in the public, who are at the receiving end of the anti-social elements.
