Margao traffic measures reviewed

The South Goa district Collector G P Naik on Tuesday reviewed the implementation of measures suggested by the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat to streamline traffic and garbage collection in the city. The meeting comes four days after the Chief Minister came down on the streets of Margao to personally take stock of the worsening traffic system and garbage collection.
Margao Municipal Chief Officer Y B Tawde submitted that the Civic body has already taken up the work of clearing tree branches and grass from the pavements. Tawde further informed that he has already moved a proposal to Director of Municipal Administration for four garbage compactors.
