The Merces JMFC Court has granted bail to Kapil Arora, who was arrested by the Panjim Police for allegedly organising the Oceanman 2025 event at Caranzalem without obtaining the necessary permissions. He was also accused of cheating and endangering participants during the event.
According to Adv. Salil Lawande, the court granted Arora bail on a personal bond of ₹10,000.
Arora’s arrest followed complaints that the international swimming event was held without required approvals from local authorities, raising concerns over participant safety and compliance with legal norms.
Police had registered offences under sections related to cheating and public safety violations. However, after hearing the defence’s submission, the court observed that custodial interrogation was not necessary and allowed Arora to be released on bail.
Further investigation into the alleged lapses in event permissions and safety arrangements is currently underway.
