Merces Special Court Extends Judicial Custody of Zenito Cardozo and Seven Others Till October 18

The Special Court in Merces has extended the judicial custody of all eight accused, including Zenito Cardozo, till October 18. The decision came during the court hearing held on Thursday, as the investigation into the ongoing case continues.

The accused were produced before the court following the expiry of their previous remand period. After reviewing the case records and considering the status of the probe, the court decided to extend their custody.

Zenito Cardozo, who is already facing multiple legal cases, remains one of the key accused in the matter. Sources said the investigating team sought additional time to complete further inquiries and gather supporting evidence.

Security was tightened around the court premises during the proceedings. The next hearing is scheduled for October 18, when the court is expected to review the progress of the investigation and decide on further judicial action.
