Residents of Mestabhat Wada at Shivnathi in Shiroda have been facing severe difficulties for over 17 years due to the absence of a proper access road connecting their locality to the main road.
According to local resident Atchut Naik, villagers have been demanding a 300-metre access road since 2008. “We have approached several authorities, including the Shiroda Village Panchayat, the Executive Engineer of PWD, the Chief Minister of Goa, and even the Prime Minister’s Office, seeking a solution to our problem,” Naik said.
He added that after their grievance reached the Prime Minister’s Office, initial steps were taken, and the Shiroda Panchayat even passed a resolution recommending the project to the PWD. However, there has been no progress since then.
The villagers highlighted that around 12 houses are located in the area, and during medical emergencies, ambulances are unable to reach their homes due to the lack of a proper access road.
