Michael Lobo has stated that everyone in Calangute is free to contest the upcoming Assembly elections, adding that the final decision on the BJP ticket will rest with the party leadership.
Speaking about political developments in the constituency, Lobo said that he and his team are fully prepared and continue to work for the welfare of the people.

“In the end, it is the people who will decide who their next MLA will be. As an MLA, we are working 100 percent for the people. Several works have already been completed, while the remaining pending works will also be completed soon,” Lobo said.
Commenting on the allocation of the party ticket, the BJP leader said that anyone aspiring to contest elections should come forward and demonstrate their capabilities.
“As far as the party ticket is concerned, the party leadership will take the final decision. Whoever wishes to become a candidate can come forward and show their abilities. The one who proves to be both the artist and the director will get the ticket,” he remarked.
Lobo also recalled his long association with the Bharatiya Janata Party, stating that he has been with the party since its early days in Goa.
“Though we left in between for some time, we have been with the party since the beginning. Back in 2007, when we joined, hardly anyone wanted to join the BJP, but today everyone wants to be a part of the party,” he added.
