A large number of residents opposing the proposed bandara project on the Zuari River at Mirabag staged a gherao at the Sanvordem Village Panchayat, intensifying their agitation against the project.
The protesters gathered in significant numbers outside the Panchayat office and demanded that the local body take a firm stand against the proposed construction. Raising slogans and voicing their concerns, they urged the Panchayat to act in the interest of the community and halt further progress on the project.

During the protest, Sarpanch Chinmayi Naik held discussions with the agitating residents in an attempt to defuse tensions and restore calm. However, the protesters remained resolute and insisted that an FIR be filed against the contractor and others they hold responsible for initiating the project.
They warned that unless concrete action is taken, they would not allow the panch members to leave the Panchayat premises, escalating pressure on the local authorities to respond to their demands.
